To insure your electric (cargo) bike at all, most insurers require you to have a KIWA SCM-approved GPS tracker into your bicycle. You can have this done at almost any bicycle shop in the Netherlands. The obligation mainly applies to electric cargo bikes from €3,500 and all electric bikes from €4,500.
It is important that your GPS tracker activated is. It may be that the insurer does not pay out if there is no active subscription linked to the GPS tracker.
